Description
Lascells Half Life Analogue-Few topics in atomic physics can be actively studied by students themselves. This equipment makes it possible to involve students in a practical investigation of the concept of 'half life' and radioactive decay without any hazard. A tub of 500 plastic cubes is provided, the cubes being used to represent atomic nuclei. Each cube has one face identified and the class is actively involved in 'throwing' the cubes, to see how many 'decay' during each throw, i.e. land with their decay face upwards. Decayed nuclei are removed prior to the next throw. Very good results for an exponential decay curve are obtained without the hazards of using radioactive materials. Supplied with full instructions, worksheets, specimen results and spares.
