Description
Stirred Clifton water baths feature a digital PID temperature controller and are designed for immersion of flasks, bottles, racks in an accurate temperature environment throughout the water bath. The sturdy clear co-polyester BPA free tank allows observation of samples, complete with stainless steel shelf all designed for good water circulation and temperature stability.
The thermostirrer is manufactured from stainless steel for durability. Painted surfaces feature a tough anti-bacterial finish with good chemical resistance. Easy to use controls which are wipe clean and have an anti-bacterial finish. Immersed components are corrosion resistant. The efficient stirrer is quiet in use and provides excellent temperature stability. Indication of heating, over temperature alarm and timer running.
When a low liquid level is detected a “FiLL” message automatically appears and heating is suspended. Once refilled, heating is restored and temperature control resumes automatically. Over and under temperature alarms automatically protect samples in the water bath.
Features and Benefits
• Stirred Clifton water baths feature a digital PID temperature controller and are designed for immersion of flasks, bottles, racks in an accurate temperature environment throughout the water bath.
• Clear tank allows observation of samples or work in water bath.
• Efficient water movement and temperature control provides accurate temperature stability throughout the water bath.
• Three-year warranty and comprehensive customer support.
• Broad range of accessories available to suit a wide range of applications.
• Before leaving our factory every water bath is identified with a unique serial number and undergoes a factory calibration adjusting control to known traceable value, electrically tested for safety at final inspection and a test certificate enclosed in rear of the instruction book.
• Thermostirrer control panel and painted surfaces feature “anti-bacterial technology” which inhibits bacterial growth, improving hygiene requirements as demanded by clinical and laboratory environments. The Clifton range features easy to clean surfaces and finishes that are resistant to routine and efficient disinfections. The efficacy of the finish is maintained over time, as the anti-bacterial agent is integral within the paint finish.
Controls
Featuring a bold LED display of measured temperatures in real-time and in increments of ±0.1°C, using a precision PID temperature controller. Setting for water temperature only or combination of temperature and time. Timer setting variable in 1-minute increments from 00:01 [hh:mm] to 99:59 [hh:mm] with “end” message on completion of the timed period. Time and temperature settings are retained in the memory, even after the unit has been turned off.
Easy to use controls, utilising touch keypads for setting time and temperature values with indicators for heating, over temperature alarm and timer.
The heater unit can be set to run at a set temperature or commence the timer once the water reaches set temperature.
Features auto setting over and under temperature alarm protecting your work at set temperature.
Every unit undergoes a factory calibration at two temperatures for validation.
Safety Features
Features a low liquid level float switch, which ensures heating, is switched off if the liquid falls below the recommended level - display will show “FiLL”. Heating is switched off but stirring continues. To reset carefully top up the liquid to the recommended level.
The under/over temperature alarm is automatically set 4˚C above and 4˚C below set temperature. When in alarm condition the indicator illuminates and actual bath temperature is shown. If bath is over temperature both heating and stirring are switched off. Once liquid temperature has fallen or risen above/below the alarm setting, the indicator clears and actual bath temperature is shown.
Heating/Cooling Information
For cooling a water bath use an accessory Immersion Cooler. Where bath temperatures are below ambient we recommend a 80:20 glycol:water or LB-5.0 Lab Bath. We also recommend a lid or layer of spheres for insulation. The water bath should be used in ambient temperature 20°C.
For water temperatures above 60°C we recommend that an accessory lid or layer of spheres are used for optimum performance. This will reduce evaporation and a lid will keep the samples and water free from contamination. Optimum performance saves energy by reducing electricity consumption and running costs.
